SilkLight: Lightweight Mulberry Silk for Sleep, Lounging and Scarves

SilkLight is our lightest silk line. It covers 16 momme mulberry silk sleepwear and lounge pieces for women and men, along with silk scarves, mostly in a finer 12 momme weight, and small accessories such as scrunchies, bonnets and eye masks. If you want silk that feels airy, drapes close to the body and is easy to layer, this is the collection to browse first.

What a Lighter Momme Weight Changes

Momme is a measure of fabric weight. At 16 momme, silk is soft and fluid, with a gentle sheen and very little bulk. Lighter silk also shows more of what is underneath, especially in pale colors, so look at all the photographs and choose a deeper shade or a style with a double layer at the chest if coverage matters to you. Sleepwear: Pick the Coverage You Want

• Pajama sets — Long and short sleeves, notch or lapel collars, many of them in prints. Pick a long-sleeve set if you like your arms and legs covered.
• Nightgowns — Choose from spaghetti-strap slips and cap-sleeve, half-sleeve or long-sleeve gowns, in lengths from mini to long. For more nightgown styles, see our silk nightgowns.
• Cami sets — A camisole paired with shorts, or with wide-leg pants for covered legs and bare arms.
• Robes and nightgown-and-robe sets — Kimono wraps, long-sleeve midi robes and lace-trimmed styles give you a layer for mornings and evenings. For more styles, see all silk robes.
• Nightshirts and couple sets — Button-up nightshirts with a high-low hem, and matching sets for two where you choose a men's size and a women's size separately.

For men, there are pajama sets, sleep shorts and pants, robes and underwear. Woven silk has very little stretch, so check the size chart on the exact style and compare it with a piece you already wear. Most cami styles have adjustable straps, which helps fine-tune the fit. The top and bottom of a pajama set come in the same size. Nightgown-and-robe sets differ in size range: some stop at L, while others run to XL or XXL.

Slip Dresses and Lounge Pieces

SilkLight also includes 16 momme dresses, camisole tops and wide-leg pants. The dresses are mostly slip shapes with spaghetti straps or a cowl neck, in lengths from short to long, and some are bias cut so the fabric falls softly. Most dress listings measure length from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem, without the straps, so compare that figure with a dress you own.

Scarves in 12 Momme Silk

Most of the scarves are a finer 12 momme weight. Each scarf lists its size in the title or the Size option. Small squares around 53 cm (21 inches) tie neatly at the neck or onto a bag handle. Larger squares from around 86 to 110 cm fold into a triangle for the shoulders. Long 170 x 53 cm scarves drape as a light shawl, and the 175 x 105 cm rectangles are big enough to wear as a wrap. Small Pieces and Gifts

Scrunchies, bonnets and eye masks are easy add-ons and simple gifts because they do not depend on clothing size. Scrunchies run from a 1 cm skinny band to an 8 cm oversized one, sold singly or in bundles. Bonnets close with ribbons, long ties or elastic, and eye masks fasten with an elastic strap or a hook-and-loop closure. For sleepwear gifts, a wrap robe leaves more room than a fitted pajama set, but still check its size chart.

Check Product Terms and Care

A small share of SilkLight styles are clearance and carry "Clearance" in the product name. These are Final Sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, and underwear and bras are also excluded from returns and exchanges, so check the size chart closely before ordering. Two habits from our silk care guide matter for everyday wear: spray perfume before you dress rather than onto the silk, and hang robes on a smooth hanger instead of a sharp hook. Wash in water no warmer than 35°C (95°F) with a silk detergent, then dry inside out in the shade, never in a tumble dryer.
